Private, unhurried and comfortable

A first Brazilian can feel like a big step. The studio only ever has one client at a time, so there is no waiting room, no one in the next chair and no rushing. You have privacy to get comfortable, and each step is explained as we go.

Brazilian or bikini: what’s the difference?

A Brazilian wax ($70) removes all of the hair in the bikini area, including the front, the back and between the buttocks. Every Brazilian includes a hydromask as part of the aftercare to calm and hydrate the skin.

A bikini wax ($40) tidies the bikini line: the sides, the top edge and the inner thigh, so nothing shows outside your swimsuit or underwear.

If you come back within six weeks of your last Brazilian, book Brazilian maintenance ($60). Waxing on a regular four-to-six-week schedule usually makes each appointment quicker and more comfortable, as the hair grows back finer.

How to prepare for a Brazilian wax

  • Let the hair grow to about 6 mm (a quarter inch), roughly two to three weeks after shaving. If it is much longer, trim it to about that length.
  • Exfoliate gently a day or two before your appointment.
  • Skip lotion, oil and heavy creams on the area on the day.
  • Avoid sunburn and tanning beforehand.
  • Skin is often more sensitive around your period, so book around it if you can.
  • If you use retinoid creams or take isotretinoin (Accutane), mention it when you book — waxing may not be safe until you have stopped.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Brazilian wax aftercare

  • For 24 to 48 hours, skip hot baths, saunas, pools, intense workouts and tanning.
  • Wear loose cotton underwear and avoid tight clothing for the first day.
  • Keep fragranced products away from the waxed area.
  • After 48 hours, exfoliate gently two or three times a week to help prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Try not to shave between appointments. It resets the growth cycle and makes the next wax less comfortable.

Other waxing

Legs, arms, underarms, back, chest, stomach and upper lip are all available too. See body and face waxing for every area and price.

Questions

Brazilian wax FAQ.

Does a Brazilian wax hurt?

There is a quick sting as each section comes off, and the first wax is usually the most uncomfortable. It gets easier with regular appointments as the hair grows back finer.

How long does a Brazilian wax last?

Usually three to five weeks. Booking every four to six weeks keeps you smooth, and maintenance within six weeks of your last Brazilian is $60.

How long should my hair be for a Brazilian?

About 6 mm (a quarter inch), which is roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving.

Can I get waxed on my period?

Skin is often more sensitive around your period, so it is best to book around it. If your appointment falls on your period, send a message before you come in.
